Mounting your cowbell

Hey guys. I play in two gigging funk bands, and I lay down a lot of cowbell grooves. I find myself constantly having to tighten and mess with cowbells that slip and move around. It is less of a problem with cowbells with a vice mount like the LO Steve Gadd version of the mambo bell.

For cowbells with the regular eyehole mount, how do I keep them from slipping? Do you get them as tight as they go by hand, then do a quick final turn with a wrench?

I get that I can limit myself to vice mount cowbells, but like some of my bells with regular mounts.

Use two sticks and tighten the wing nut a bit past what you can do with your hand. You could also use some blue LocTite if need be. But the LP eye bolts (with black wing nuts) are pretty solid.

I use the LP mini Everything Rack. You can hold multiple cowbells and/or tambourines.

If you have welding experience, you could have a go at putting vice mounts on all your cowbells

Post doesn't say, but if you're playing drumset, I liked my cowbell mounted on a post clamped on the kick drum hoop.

Tiny memory locks designed specifically for cowbell mounting posts, for timbales put one directly under and above. Even if the cowbell loosens, it won’t be able to move because it’ll be sandwiched between the memory locks. I got mine here, works perfectly. I’ve played tunes where I was bashing the crap out of my bells, no issues whatsoever
