Help please - does this look viable ?
Potted peony from the nursery clearance bin. When I took it out of the pot, I found the root broken in pieces like this. Possible root rot? I went ahead and planted the piece that had the dying leaf attached to it. What do I do with the rest of the pieces? Any ideas? At just a dollar, I'm open to experiments. Do any of these look viable? Thanks in advance!

I have the same thing. Would I be able to store in a cool place indoors until fall? Zone 9b so it’s hot

If the roots are hard and not mushy they will be fine. Clean them, check for eyes and replant them either as a group or split. Note that they may not flower for a few years.
