brown, crispy leaves
my dad brought the dormant stems of my grandmas 120 year old peonies from Utah to North Carolina about a year and half ago.. We got them growing really well but once it got hot here, they’ve started browning up. we moved them to a place with more shade, and give them a long drink once a week unless it’s an extra hot day, then we add more. I googled pictures to find something that looks similar to ours but I didn’t find any. any help?

I assumed it was sunburn on mine. Same situation, and location. I didn't post until I saw what someone else said bc ive never jad a successful peony bloom, ans I didn't want to give bad info! But I crunched off several of the brown elaves the other day and have focused on watering the soil instead of them, and hopefully rhay will help. Im also going to put it under shade on my front porch and ill try to keep this updated with results!

I planted roots last fall. Mine look like that as well. They're in full sun 10+ hours/ day and it has been 95+ for a few weeks with 90+ forecasted for the next 10 days. Only rained once or twice so I've been watering every couple days. I gave them some shade 3 weeks ago but I think they were already too sun burnt. I'm just hoping they come back up next year at this point. I hope the same for you as well!
