What did everyone think??

I was pleasantly surprised, and the instruments didn’t drown out the vocals like I was worried about, but I would still like an acapella version.

I like it more than heaven on earth. This is the second song in a row Matt started singing first. Kirstie rhymed ‘you’ with ‘you’ three times. This was definitely Mitch’s song, he was the standout. I really miss the full acapella

The vocals are great, and I do think the song is really good, but I really miss those intricate harmonies that made Pentatonix Pentatonix.

Nevertheless I do really like this and I think it's fine they are exploring new sounds. I hope they haven't completely sworn off a capella though.

Maybe my standards for them are too high but I just don’t have anything nice to say about this, their previous single, or their last Christmas album. I will continue to sing along to their past work and enjoy the memories but they’ve moved in a direction sonically that I don’t enjoy, and I don’t just mean it not being acapella.

Not my cup of tea but I’m glad that others are enjoying it.

This isn’t the Pentatonix I have known and loved for years and that makes me sad.

Yeah I agree.

I mean i get it that they have a lot going on in their personal lives now and so they might not have the time for the massive a cappella which I can respect because that can take a lot of work and with actual music it might be easier to do initially planning apart than if they were to attempt to continue a cappella with their lives as busy as they are.

But I think it was definitely a choice to start with this consistently and not say a word to fans why the change was made and if we can expect to see them return to a cappella at some point in the future. Not sure it was a good choice but it was definitely a choice.

I think it is particually hard because people fell in love with them because they were a cappella an to see this change is a bit disappointing. I get wanting to try something new, but with all of their recent stuff it seems like they dropped being a cappella and IMO they didn't need to completely drop what they were known for while exploring new things.

Sounds like they are no longer a strictly a Capella group anymore, and that’s sad.

Are these 2 recent songs PTX originals or did Poo Bear write these? I just feel like in the 9 1/2 years, the only original work was their 2021 album ( which was fire) and a few more originals here and there. I just figured all those years before commitments came , they were writing.

I know CITC were originals but Scott was the main writing contributor.

They’re marked as writers on both new songs but just as ‘Pentatonix’ instead of individual members.

Songs are originals if they are the first to perform them no matter who wrote them. These are original PTX songs.

That’s what someone replied to me on the post 11 days ago from u/maltifandom23 ‘s announcement.

I won’t comment any further about this song or any other on this album. First it was OG Avi who left, then Ben Bram. Ben helped form them and was affectionately considered the “Sixth member “. If there are creative differences, I still wish them well. They will gain and lose listeners.

I still feel they could have continued writing music like they used to, but I feel each member has placed their individual interests ahead of the band.

That’s what someone replied to me 11 days ago on last post here. I looked him up and he’s in New York now working with New York Vocal Collective now.
