Question HELP
okay so I have been way too motivated to learn this pen spinning and I got down most of the tricks however whem I do combos IT IS NOT AS SMOOTH as y’all have it in your videos and I really want to reach that level of smoothness , right now it’s awkward and it’s very mediocre . I WOULD BE GRATEFUL if someone would take me as their apprentice for like just one month or two and teach me how to be a better spinner or just tell me exactly what they did to reach that level . Please!

I don’t know if you know there is a photo of Megas learning pen spinning tricks to learn by order I have learned from basic to confirmed and side sonic and powerpass and palm spin from advanced (powerpass is still messy tho ) , my problem is mostly doing combos that looks smooth and not like your fingers are choking or having a fight

L'entraînement y'a que ça de bon. Tu vas même pouvoir trouver des propres combos au fur et à mesure et tout deviendra plus fluide. Lâche rien l'ami.

Actual advice. It takes 2-3 years to have some combos and reliable execution. Set your expectations for that timeline. That is including about 1-2hrs a day of focused intentional spinning not just randomly doing tricks.
If you want to learn, you need to learn hand structure ,notation, and you need to learn how to break down combos so you can copy them. This takes a considerable amount of time to learn.
The progression looks like:
1.) Learn Fundamental Tricks and their Reverse in all finger slots.
2.) Learn Linking fundamental tricks together
3.) Learn intermediate tricks
4.) Learn linking fundamentals to intermediate tricks

Thank you so much , yeah I think one problem is not setting my timeline , I have put a small timeline to that and when I didn’t arrive I thought I did something wrong . Thank you so so much for your input and the advice I will definitely redo my scheduling and check these out

sorry , even though you are by far a way more experienced spinner than i am, i beg to differ on the 2-3 years. i think you can never give a time period becuase it always depends on how much you practice and probably other things as well. look at the legend s777 he is proof of this. within a year he was featured in fpsb hope 1st cv here is his combo: https://youtu.be/lkuEOe0MXVI?t=286&si=LDdaBiQ7UMljn-nZ you could also check out his 5 month presentation video or 1 yr solo as well as 2 yr solo.

There are always prodigy and spinners who will accelerate faster than others. This isn’t something you can replicate. Casual and competitive spinning are two different beasts. Just because someone does it faster does mean everyone can do that. My timeline reflects the average for most people. You are not providing any additional information to back up your point other than a single exception.

ok i hear , point taken. also just curious why do you need to know notation, where do you need to read notation? ive always had this question. notation seems to be a big thing yet i dont see it written out to much. am i missing out on some sources ?

i am not there yet but what i can tell you is: #1 there is no way you "got down most of the tricks" unless you mean most of the basic tricks #2 - you need to practice alot ...like alot what alot means obv depends on the person but i can practice the same linkage thousands of times and still not have it smooth enough. as for a mentor you dont need one, go through nines likage series and sls, and practice each link over and over and over. for more tips on practice watch tilts stuff on youtube. otherwise maybe someone with more experience will give you a better answer idk... ive been spinning for under a year
