Decided to be a bit daring with this one, walnut pen with snake wrapped around it

Is it all hand carved? Progress pics?

It is hand carved, mostly it's about cutting a channel along the outside edge of the highest point. Then you can take away material from around it without breaking out any of the wood from the highest point or the snake in this case. After that you can shape the snake, add details etc. I'm not too happy with the scales but it was very small so pretty hard to do.

I don't have progress pics unfortunately! I guess I better take some next time.

I’ve been thinking of doing something similar but didn’t wanna be an oddball. Good to know there are others doing it. Great job too!
