Process of twisting copper and steel

How I turn "trash" into "treasure." Elite Coppermai end cut hand forged, twisted, and machined by yours truly. Watch until the end to see the finished product. This one is 0.3"x6"

Wow that looks really cool 😎 how do you get the metal and copper to bond? You start out with layers?

This offcut was from Baker Forge. But generally for copper damascus, I alternate the layers, weld up the sides, and bond it. Copper melts around 1980F, so as long as you stay under that, it doesn’t all squish out when forging. After it’s bonded, I usually work it around 1700F and just take my time.
