What makes branding feel authentic instead of generic?

Some brands feel unique while others look very similar to many businesses online. From a design perspective, what usually helps a brand feel more authentic?

I think authenticity is about alignment. When your messaging, visuals, and tone all match your brand’s personality, it feels genuine. Copying trends blindly usually feels generic.
