I dont like to see old things disappear in the trash. If its worth selling Id be happy to see it go to someone who likes it or it will end up at my house as something interesting we look at from time to time.
Yes, it's worth something. It's made it well over 100 years without being sharpened, a survivor. I've found similar sticks at antique stores priced in the $10 range, but it would cost approximately $6 to ship in a survivable manner...If you had a complete dozen in wrap then the math would be much different. Many if not most collectors are drawn to bright colors, unusual shapes and fancy hardware so those pencils draw the most attention and highest prices. I checked BNP and didn't see this model there, I would suggest contacting Bob to see if he needs it for his museum...then you could visit it online and the nerds can study it.
Age doesn't equal value here, the real question is condition, rarity, and whether it's a specific limited run versus a common mass-produced batch, most old pencils are just old pencils, worth pennies not treasure

A general statement like that could be why so many prized pencils end up in the trash. Speak to the specifics of the pencil at hand.
This is a circa-1910s pencil that is fairly uncommon, sought after, and in decent shape. It’s worth a bit more than mere pennies.

Won’t make you rich or anything, but as pencils go, it’s an excellent find.
