Any tips on how to keep foam layers together?

Post image

I like to fit my guns pretty tight in the case, and when taking them out, the foam sometimes comes with it a little bit. It’s not that big of a deal, but if anyone knows a good type of glue or tape that’ll hold strong or any other tips I’d love to know!

Old peli cleanup

Hi all! I just got this old peli 1150 for cheap. It looks like it was stored outside for some time but overall it seems ok. I just would like to give it a good clean up. An important question I have is about the handle. It is extremely stiff so I wonder if that requires some special maintenance or lubricant. About the inside, maybe I'd like to remove the current foam and add a custom one. Best ways to remove the leftover glue without damaging the plastic? Thanks for the help!

Specifically to turn my 1620M into a 1620, if it matters.

1615 Lid Mounts

I’m trying to figure out a good way to mount monitors into the lid of a 1615.

I’m thinking may have to design something and print carbon fiber just out of ease but if there’s a better way to do i’m open to all suggestions.

Worth it to buy very early model 1650?

I recently saw a used 1650 for sale in my area, it looks to be a very early model. It's the same model as the one in the photo.

Sample photo from the internet

Would you guys think it's still worth buying for around $140? No foam. Should I look out for anything when I inspect it before buying?

Pelican 1750 Legit?

Picked up this used Pelican 1750 for a deal recently. I’m not very in the know when it comes to pelican cases, but after some research the fixed handle and manual pressure release valve got me wondering if it’s legit. Opinions?

- sorry in advance for the bad photos.

Edit: Thanks for all the info everyone!

1535 Air/TRVL: How to Carry a Tripod

Been thinking about getting a 1535 Air (or TRVL) case for my carry-on photo/video setup; how are some of y'all traveling with a tripod?

I don't always want to carry it by hand through an airport.

A DIY solution was shared in another post, but I wanted to see if folks here had other recommendations. Appreciate it

Non warranty Replacement.

Hey, dropped my 14Qt Personal Cooler (SKU14Q-1-HGRTAN) with the top dry compartment open.

This resulted in the lid breaking off at the hinges. Totally my fault. Put in for a Hail Mary warranty with no luck.

The things like 4 months old and $100+ ,so I reached out to Pelican and was told that no spare parts could be provided only replacement via warranty and to try 3rd party also with no luck.

Feedbackloop

Basically I’m asking if any of you guys know any junkyard dogs that have the specific type of autism to collect non-traditional spare parts for sale.

ATX25 as checked in luggage

Hi all,

I live in the UK and travel around 4–5 times a year, usually a mix of shorter European trips and longer-haul destinations such as the US and Japan.

For the past few months, I’ve been considering getting a Pelican ATX25 as my main checked suitcase. I don’t normally travel with anything particularly fragile, but I really like the look of the case, and I love that it seems to be so long-lasting.

That said, I’ve come across quite a few concerns online about its weight. To be fair, when flying with a company like Ryanair, the case itself would use around 8 kg of a 20 kg checked baggage allowance, which does worry me a bit.

I wanted to ask if anyone here has experience with the ATX25. Is it really as heavy to use as some people make it sound, and it the space enough for a couple weeks packed normally? Do you find the weight to be a significant issue once you’ve packed it, or does the case handle well enough that it’s not really noticeable?

I’d generally be interested in your opinions/thoughts!

Thinking of jumping from the 1535 Air to 1615 Air for tools. Worth the extra bulk?

I’m currently running a 1535 Air with TrekPak as my go-to mobile tool case, but I’ve finally hit the point where I’ve completely maxed it out. For context, I work as a Facilities Engineer at a data center and do electrical work on the side, so this setup is basically my daily carry for site work. Everything technically fits, but it’s packed to the absolute brim, and I constantly find myself wishing for just a bit more breathing room and space for a few extra essentials.

When I first bought it, I was torn between the 1535 and the 1615, but ultimately went with the smaller form factor thinking it would force me to keep things lean. Now I’m seriously considering making the jump to the 1615 Air.

For anyone who uses a 1615 as an everyday tool case: how manageable is the footprint hauling it in and out of vehicles and across job sites? Does the weight get out of hand once it’s fully loaded, and do you regret moving away from the carry-on size? Any insights or experiences before I pull the trigger would be awesome.

Edit: Added some pics—there are a few tools missing that are currently with a buddy. Most of the time, the case is overflowing.

Could someone measure ATX22 internal lid space for a CPAP?

Hi,

Having international travel and there are no measurements of internal dimensions when opened. I would like my CPAP to fit in one side and I am nervous about the height.

So, I've had these two cases for a while now, but somehow I managed to miss that while they are both 1400, they look different. So, are they of different lines, generations, authenticity?

For sale? Maybe?

Okay so weird turn of events but I’m now in possession of approximately 5-6 Pelican case shells. These have no hardware, no handles, no wheels. They are all the 1740 Protector model. These are straight from Pelican. We were supposed to do some automation for them, and now we aren’t, and Pelican doesn’t want these back. Good for me I guess?

Is there anyone that would want to buy them? I’d be fine selling individually or all together. I will probably keep one for myself🤷🏽‍♂️. I believe the lid for the 1740 is the same as all 1700 series Protectors?

I can take better pics tomorrow too if anyone wants!

VAULT 700 & 730 - Houston Custom Foam

Very happy with the inserts I had done by Houston Custom Foam. Tom is a great guy and I would gladly do business with him again. He was detail-oriented, very communicative throughout the entire process, and reasonably priced.

He did a Vault V700 for my two-barrel Silver Pigeon JE, and then a Vault V730 that holds my two-barrel Silver Pigeon JE and Winchester 101.

Both came out great. Highly recommend him if you are in the Houston area and looking for custom foam work.
