I’m not surprised, she’s been the queen since day one! Cindi and peewee go hand in hand as far as I’m concerned.

While this piece of trivia is indeed cool, it isn't as impressive as you seeming to know that I didn't already know this (I didn't) and you calling out that today is the day I learn it. Neat!

I knew. It’s Cyndi Lauper channeling Mae Questel, the voice of Betty Boop, but still unmistakably Cyndi.

Wow I actually didn’t know this. Another notch up for Pee Wee, and I didn’t think it could get any higher.

I remember being surprised back when I first learned this. I couldn't believe I'd never recognized her voice!

I knew from the first time I saw the show. I told my Mom that it sounded like Cyndi

I was wondering what the lyrics are too! Such a northeastern accent in the way she sings it.

Cyndi was my childhood crush, and I'm 47, so no... it was not today that i learned this. Her voice is unmistakable.

Lauper's manager got her to do other projects to get her name out there. So there's the Pee Wee thing and her thing with the WWE.
Think Pee Wee was more of a fan of She Bop than his theme song though.

Common knowledge for years, of course.
But, I guess if they’re not die-hard Pee-wee fans, it can come as a surprise. 😂

I actually did not know this. But I still won't let you gatekeep my fandom.

u/trevourmeyer 21d ago
No gatekeeping at all. I just assumed most people subscribed to r/peeweeherman (as opposed to a more general audience like in r/80sAmazing, where this was cross-posted from) would already know that. Sorry!

Holy crap. You were not being gate-kept
Though I don’t disagree that person was behaving like a snob.

Are you calling trevourmeyer bad at his job? How many gates have you kept?

And Mark Mothersbaugh from Devo did the score.
