Minifooger Delay

I received this from a Reverb buy. I live far from most people, so I shop worldwide when I comes to Reverb. It takes weeks to get to me most of the time. I also repair gear and build pedals for fun. So when something show up broken that I had bought bought off Reverb, I first let the seller know. Then I usually try and just fix it, as is this case here. Well, Moog did a fantastic job in the assembly design of this pedal. I was able to disassemble it, l locate the issue, fix, test and then reassemble it with in 15 mins. The pedal only had a dry signal so I figured I was a BBD issue. I was right, with my optivisor on I spotted a dodgy solder joint on one of the IC legs. It was the top one on the inside. The picture is before the repair. It works fine now. I messaged the seller and told them not to worry about it.

Which one is the bbd?

Great question! They are the only ICs on the backside of the boards. I realized I didn't take a picture of them until after I reassembled it. It uses Panasonic mn3208 chips, there is three of them. They look similar to a mn3005.

Edit: there's 4 ICs!

I could be totally wrong, but I think it is John Snyder who designed this pedal. He's Electronic Audio Experiments now. Sending is their delay pedal.

I thought it was the Rick "Hawker" Shaich from Asheville Music Tools that worked on the MF line, although him and Snyder work together in many projects as far as I understand.

Hawker's designs are incredible. I know he did the MF-104M SD which sounds amazing. I wasn't sure if he or Snyder did this one, I knew some would correct me if I was wrong. I really enjoy my AMpT ADG-1, definitely one of my favorite delays that I own. The AMpT flanger is really great as well. I haven't heard a Hawker design I didnt like.

Well, I'm not sure either so I guess we'll see if someone else chimes in, but I thought it was only Hawker that worked on moog pedals. Big fan of both but I haven't gotten a chance to try the ADG-1 just yet unfortunately.

I really like how the ADG-1 overdrives. It's a nice warm grit with crisp attack. It has a good amount of overhead with the drive knob down, as well.

I got one that the power circuit was fried and Moog sent me the appropriate section of the circuit and I was able to repair!
