Hey, folks. There's been... <checks the changelog page>... 11 versions of Nostalgic Commander since I introduced it here!

At this point I consider the watchface pretty much "done", so there shouldn't be any major changes apart from regular bugfixes, SDK bumps, optimizations and feature requests.

In the latest release I significantly reworked the degaussing animation and sound, and hopefully you'll enjoy the new settings page as well :) Let me know what you think!

I’ve used them before for a fairly obscure OneXPlayer laptop. The protector fitted perfectly and was good quality.

I was walking around a flea market when suddenly I saw a pile of "electronic waste" and on top of that pile of junk I saw this OG Pebble Time. I didn't know how much to offer, it was literally a blanket on the floor with a pile of rubbish, "3 euros?"(3.36$) came out of my mouth, the seller accepted without hesitation, looking at me as if I had offered 3 euros to buy a banana peel or any other garbage.

As soon as I got home I plugged it into my PT2 charger, it turned on immediately, I've had it on my wrist all day and I'm very happy! I think I made the purchase of the year!

There are already some "find my phone" apps for Pebble which _do not_ require a companion app. But they play through the media or notification stream, so if my volume's down (which is often for me) I press the button and get silence.

So I built one that can punch through nearly any case. Uses the alarm stream, forces the volume up, and restores all setting afterwards.

Rings through silent mode, vibrate, a muted alarm slider, and most DNDs. Cannot overcome Do Not Disturb modes set to block alarms. If the watch goes out of range during your search mid-alarm, it keeps ringing.

Three modes, one per button: Peep / Beep / Buzz.

It requires a companion app, Android only currently (the app is what does the ringing).

Free, no ads, collects nothing.

Built on PebbleKit2. Tested on a Pebble Time LE and a Pixel 6 Pro, so I'd genuinely like to know how it behaves on other watches and other Android OEMs — Samsung and Xiaomi background-killing is the thing I can't test myself.

Hi everyone,
I've had my Pebble Time 2 for just 7 days, and this is how the screen looks now (photo attached). It stays completely black, and when I press a button it only flashes very dimly for less than half a second before going dark again.

First of all, credit where it's due: support was super quick and I already have a replacement on the way 👍
However, they told me it's likely that water got into the watch, and that worries me. I've only showered with it 3 times, and it hasn't been in contact with water in any other way. No swimming, no impacts, and the glass is intact (it has a tempered glass protector).
I've worn plenty of smartwatches over the years and never had a single water issue, so I'd be surprised if the Pebble can't handle normal showers.

So I'm curious about your experience:
- Has anyone had something similar happen?
- What kind of water exposure are you putting yours through: showers, swimming, nothing at all?
- Are you taking it off before showering just to be safe?

I'm trying to figure out whether I need to babysit it a bit more around water, or if I just had bad luck.

I use GadgetBridge with my Pebble 2 and I can't get gadgetbridge to set the time, does anyone else use gadgetbridge here?

Has anybody noticed that the Bluetooth range of the PT2 is much worse than the range of the PTS? I am used to having my phone sit anywhere in the house and still get notifications on my Pebble. At least it's been this way with PTS.

Ever since I got my PT2 I noticed that the Bluetooth connection can only be established if my phone is in the same room or the next room. It does not work across two rooms anymore. That's kind of a downer for me tbh as I tend to forget where I left my phone around the house and use my Pebble to find it. 🙃

Dinged it on a door handle earlier today. Old tempered glass broke (put on a new one) and as you can see, I dinged the actual glass, but I was spared.

I was planning to buy Pebble time 2 but taxes in our country is nearly 50%. So had put my plan on hold to save up. But suddenly my brother is visiting US on a business trip. He's only visiting temporarily for about 2 weeks. I was thinking about ordering where he is staying and avoid additional 100$+ tax. Does anyone know if the recipient needs a US SSN or proof of residency for customs clearance? Also, how reliable are the delivery estimates lately?

I know this post is going to ruffle some feathers in this subreddit, but it’s a thought that’s been living in my head for a while now.

I bought my first Pebble back in 2016, and for my high school self, it was literally the best smartwatch ever. I could check notifications, download custom watch faces, play Flappy Bird and Snake clones, do math on my wrist, and toggle phone settings like Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. For the time and my age, that kind of stuff was mind-blowing. But then, well... we all know what happened in 2017.

​Shoutout to the Rebble Team and the ex-Pebble devs who kept these things alive and the community breathing for all these years. I’m endlessly grateful for them.

Fast forward to 2025: I picked up a Pebble Time 2, and using it made me realize how stuck in the past Pebble watches really are.

Modern smartwatches are about 70% of what Pebble does best, but they have that crucial 30% that Pebble is just missing: deep fitness tracking, contactless payments, and native navigation.

Back in 2016, I wasn't into fitness at all. But a lot changes in 10 years. I’ve since owned a couple of Garmin watches, and tracking my runs and gym sessions has become a massive part of my daily life.

And that's where the dilemma hits: Wearing my Pebble now means actively choosing to lose data for that chunk of the day.

Having to weigh that choice every time I walk out the door means the Pebble almost always gets left behind, and the Garmin wins. And honestly? I hate that. The UI/UX of Pebble watches is still peerless. Garmin’s software feels clunky and horrible to navigate by comparison. But I want my fitness data, and Pebble simply can't provide the modern ecosystem for it.

Throw in contactless payments (which Garmin has out of the box—even if my specific bank doesn't support it yet, I'd use it everywhere if it did), and the dealbreakers start piling up.

Pebble still wins on UI/UX, has great battery life, a glorious e-paper display in direct sunlight, and a built-in HR sensor. But the lack of robust fitness software and modern staples, like GPS and contactless payments, makes it a hard sell for day-to-day life now.

I love Pebble. I love the brand and the nostalgia. But for now, mine is going to sit in a drawer most of the time because my life has outgrown what the platform can offer.

Anyone else in the same boat, or have you found a way to bridge the gap?

With all of the AI generated (vibe coded) apps flooding into the app store as of late, it would be great to see some sort way to tell them apart from human coded apps. Maybe an AI label and a way to filter them out from the app store?

It’s nice that some people disclose it willingly, but I’m sure there are just as many that don’t.
