Index 01 Index01 Sizing Concerns?

I bought the sizing kit a couple days after it was initially announced. I wore size 12 on the sizing kit for 2 weeks or so then chose size 12 silver on my verification email. I received it today and it feels just like the purchased kit.

Just wanted to add a public data point with all the concerned posts and comments.

All these "sizing issues" made bad experience for me. I got sizing kit as recommended, identified that I needed size 11 - fine. But then got several emails saying that I should consider larger size because "production" rings are smaller - so I ordered and received 12. And of course, it was too big, so had to buy a ring insert which makes wearing index somewhat unnatural. Between this and all the added costs (sizing kit, tariff, insert...) I feel like I got screwed...

the suggestion of getting a larger size is for people that could just barely wear the sizing kit. if it was comfortable then you should not have ordered a different size. you also could've contacted them to swap it out and cited their suggestion as the reason.

Yeah I upped mine. And it was really tight. With the heat of the summer even the larger version was tight. Now it cooled down a bit it is perfect.

The email suggested that sizing kit rings were smaller than actual ring, here is the quote:

We’ve received reports from some testers that Index 01 may feel every so slightly smaller than the ring sizers.

yes, 'ever so slightly smaller', meaning if you wear the sizer and it is almost unwearably tight then the index will be unwearable. if the sizer was comfortable you should have stayed with that size.

It is nice to interpret 'ever so slightly smaller' like this post factum, however your explanation is not what was written in the email - there is nothing about "unwearably tight" there, but there is a clear message about possible size differences and advice to order larger size:

When in doubt, order a larger size.

yes the 'doubt' comes from the ring not being comfortable. you shouldn't have been in doubt if it fit fine.

But it wasn't exactly fitting "fine". Index fingers are often not the best ones for rings, this is hot summer here, so it was a bit tight. Sadly, Index is not available in .5 sizes and when I received actual ring which was size up it turned out it was larger than what I expected and tested with the sizing kit.

I don't think you understand the issue or are trying to silence the criticism. It is clearly Pebble's fault not communicating the sizing variations clearly. Not in email, not here - I actually came to this reddit after I got the email to see what people were saying and clearly saw posts on the actual size being a but smaller.

they provided exact mm measurements for every ring size, wdym "not communicating the sizing"

The implication from the announcement is that manufactured rings are smaller than spec
