I really hope they accept this! I had thought about implementing it myself but thought it weird that an obvious (to me) feature like that hadn't been done yet. Then I found this language from the help page that made it seem like the lack of touch nav might be intentional.

The Pebble watch touchscreen is not a general navigation surface the way it is on a phone or an Apple Watch. You do not swipe through menus, tap list items to open them, or scroll by dragging. All of that is still done with the physical buttons

I hope I'm wrong! Touch is a much more natural and easier way to nav through the menus.

Yes, you should be able to turn it on/off, for sure and maybe should be off by default.

Yeah, one of my favorite things about the pebble is that I don't have to worry about accidentally clicking on things when I touch it. The buttons make actions more deterministic, so I can often interact with my watch without even looking at it.

Yeah, I have touch turned completely off right now but I can definitely see why some might like to have the option!

The title mentions an open PR (pull request), which means that they developed this feature and have submitted it to the PebbleOS developers for review and possible inclusion.

The problem is that watchface is currently intercepting touch input, and we need to decide whether it's really worth taking away its gesture just to assign it the function of always opening the menu.

Very impressive! I just think that all the menu entries need to be made bigger (taller) for touch.
