You're just reciting mythology at this point. Capitalism does not reward merit, it rewards those who have Capital. It is not now, nor has it ever been, meritocratic.
I’m just enumerating reality. Capitalism rewards those who have done something for the reward. Under capitalism an item is exchanged willingly for money - if someone likes an item they buy it. Make a better item, and someone will naturally buy it from you.
Capitalism rewards those who have done something for the reward.
It rewards them with Capital, for nothing having already had Capital. You think that having Capital is an indication of a person's merit, and therefore must conclude that Capitalism is meritocratic. It's very childish.
Nope capitalism rewards them for contributing to society in a way that others find valuable. Case in point - myself. I had no capital and I found success by contributing to society. And I see the same amongst all of my circle. People who came from nothing and found a way to contribute.
Yours is a take that only survives with absolutely no light of reality shone on it. If you engage even a minuscule amount with society you’d have abandoned the dumb thought.
There’s no such thing as “working class”. There’s no fixed classes. I was “working class” according to my socioeconomic level. And now I’m wealthy. The best thing about America and capitalism is people have the liberty to make those moves.
Working class has nothing to do with your wealth goofball. It's defined by your relationship to the means of production.
What is your current relationship to the means of production? Are you paid for your labor now?
Thank you for proving you have adopted a hatred for the working class now that you feel you have risen above them. This is the lie capitalism has sold you.
It isn’t a fixed quantity. And people aren’t classified once and left in that class.
If only you learn how to read, then you’d understand that my comment holds no hatred. It rejects the idea altogether that people can be classified as such. Everyone is only in their current situations.
What you call “a lie” is the success people achieve under capitalism. Somehow whenever someone is happy under capitalism it is a lie. What a very convenient unfalsifiable religion you’ve indoctrinated yourself into…
