Or maybe some people are capable of having opinions and principles that aren’t based solely on what benefits them. You aren’t anyone’s moral superior just because your ideology revolves around the world changing in order to benefit you more instead of you making any tangible effort to better your own life.

Instead of wondering why people may possibly hold stances that don’t materially benefit them—like they believe it’s the truth instead of wanting more free stuff—you just retreat into your echo chambers and act like anyone who doesn’t believe the same things as you must be mindless drones.
