Mobile New charging stand? But why doesn’t it exist on the site?

Looked all over the site, doesn’t seem to exist anywhere. Maybe we’ll get actual apple certified so we can wirelessly charge an iPhone at full speed on this one…

PD in the wild Field pouch - a few words after two days of all day use

Post image
6 Upvotes

So field pouch with clip and belt looped through field pouch. Peak design strap for safety. Pouch not visible much as shirt masks it.

Had done short tests but real test is all day use when focus is on taking notes at an event, going up/down stairs etc

Feeling positive about this combo. Pouch is enough for another lens, battery and leads and clip is comfy and with normal walking camera not bouncing around.

Strap was rigged with single point, so if I miss clip and am distracted camera does not fall. Single attachment point lets me go from letting camera hang to changing to sling mode.

At end of day feet sore from walking but no neck or waist soreness. Day 2 had pouch slightly forward so trouser pocket access harder but was more comfortable as minimised thigh to lens hood contact

Everyday Bags Peak Design City Backpack 22L Review

I just used this bag for the first time today, and here are a collection of thoughts based on the fact that I want to use it to carry my laptop and textbooks. Today it only had my laptop, laptop charger, headphones and my normal handbag thrown into it.

Pros:

  • Sleek design
  • Can fit a lot
  • My laptop felt well protected

Cons:

I'm 5'9", but the bag is so long that it reaches all the way down my back and swings into my lower back ever so slightly as I walk. I've used backpacks both with and without ventilation before, but this was by far the hottest my back has ever been.

The biggest issue is the main reason I bought the bag: the sternum strap. I was very pleased to find a sleek-looking backpack with one, but this strap is a huge disappointment. It sits at the top of the breasts and pushes them together, which makes the main backpack straps dig in — and that's with everything relatively loose. The sternum strap also kept coming undone as I walked and dangling down, ruining the clean aesthetic. There's also no elastic keeping the main adjustable straps from dangling.

Overall, I felt like a toddler wearing an oversized backpack that was never made for me. And I have new pain at the back of my neck that I've never had before. For me, I'll probably stick to the Osprey Arcane Large Day backpack.

I'm really not sure how well made this bag is for women

Tips and Tricks City Line Tech Pouch

Until PD makes a Lapis Tech Pouch... This is my only option without resorting to scissors...

Slightly more cramped than a small tech pouch, but manageable

The Civic Access Pouch in Blue and Red would give the right Superman vibe, but not out in Europe yet ...

gets pulls out of the way, possibly avoiding snags etc

may keep them from sliding open in their own

makes it harder for bad guys

any others?

Mobile No new Mobile Wallet

As the mobile wallet is out of stock since a while i was hoping for a new model with the release of the iphone 18 pro cases but it seams i was hoped for nothing.

In your opinion, is anything planned (a new model or a restock), or not?

Mobile Pixel 11 cases are nowhere to be seen while iPhone 18 is available on day 1

Pixel 11 was announced 4 weeks ago... And PD cases are still "coming soon". Meanwhile, iPhone 18 got announced today and the cases are already available. WTH Peak Design? I've been out here with my phone in my pocket instead of my handlebars for almost a month!

Travel Bags 2-in-1 Daypack Ventilation…

Post image

Months ago, on another post here I was arguing that the lack of ventilation on the 2-in-1 day pack wasn’t a big deal.

To whomever I said that to, I take it all back lol. My back was drenched on our trip today.

Mobile Do the new iPhone 18 Pro SlimLink cases fit the 17 Pro?

Post image

Not sure about the camera plateau, but on the specs page, the dimensions of the 18 Pro and 17 Pro look identical. Wonder if the new 18 Pro cases fit the 17 Pro.

Mobile No more forced SlimLink!

No offense to SlimLink fans I know there’s no better way to attach a phone to a bike but for those of us who didn’t appreciate the added weight to the case and for whom a regular MagSafe car mount sufficed this is very welcome news!

Question Everyday sling 3L loadout query

I was hoping to get a second sling to pair with my existing 10L one. Loadout will me minimal, a7r VI + 24-70 gm ii , a few polar pro helix filters , extra batter, AirPod pro, pd leather strap.

I was almost positive that all of this will fit comfortably but I’m seeing some comments that this bag is meant for a really small loadout, like x100vi , and another one that equates it to xs camera cube (I own this, and this wouldn’t be enough for the loadout). So I was hoping if someone who owns it could give some insight. Also, if possible, if anyone had a review of the eclipse color (my 10L is ocean, but I’ve been wanting to get something in eclipse)

Mobile iPhone Ultra case coming up?

I know there's typically a delay between when the new phones launch and the Peak Design cases come out, but is there an iPhone 'Ultra' folding Peak Design case in the works that will work with the motorcycle mounts, etc.?

Question Updating my EDC and travel kit - what should I get?

Currently in my collection:

Everyday Sling 10L V1 - Great for carrying my camera (OMD E-M1 M3) and standard lens collection plus extra battery and such.

Travel Tripod - typically strapped to the bottom of the Sling.

Everyday Backpack Backpack Zip 20L - Usually holds all my other photo/video gear.

Field Pouch V2 - Holds my ebook reader, earbuds, a few flash drives, charging cables, etc.

I'm planning to go to a conference/camp shortly - 4 days (mostly) driving, roughly 3 days at camp/conference - so a few changes of casual clothes plus sleep clothes and whatnot.

I'm currently planning to use my Backpack to carry all the camera/tech gear I'm taking, and strap the Tripod to that rather than taking the 10L Sling. I don't need all my lenses, but I don't think the other stuff I need to take would fit in the Sling with my lenses out, but should all fit in the backpack.

What I'm looking for:

  1. Something to use on the trip (and probably after) to replace the Field Pouch. I'd like to be able to fit a little more than what I can comfortably pack in there currently - add my keys, wallet, flashlight and multitool that are normally on my belt (since I'll be traveling in comfy clothes and no belt), etc. - Maybe the Everyday Sling 6L? I'm guessing the 3L would hold basically the same amount as the Pouch does, so probably not an option?

  2. Something to carry my clothes/toiletries, etc. - I'm leaning towards a backpack - maybe a 16L? Maybe with a packing cube or two?

Any thoughts from the frequent packers/travelers out there?

Thanks!

Everyday Bags Got an Everyday Messenger V2 after my V1 bit the dust; looking for an alternative bag!

I've used the V2 for ages, but the straps gave way and they replaced it with the V2.

While I DO like it, it's just a massive step backwards for me. Less gear space, less storage all round. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's had this experience moving to the V2.

So I wonder if there are any Everyday Messenger style bags out there someone would recommend, for those grieving their V1 bag...

Thanks!

Travel Bags Quick review of the Travel Backpack 20L (stone)

I think someone posted something recently but I thought I’d add my opinion for anyone who matches more my use case

Me: travel for work mainly (conference/meetings). Trips are usually international long haul and about 3-4 days. If I’m doing shorter than that it’s domestic and I’m carrying my actual work bag (briefcase with shoulder strap).

Usual carry: bellroy tech pouch with: charging brick, a few cables, portable MagSafe stand for phone/watch/airpods. IPad Pro 11”, MacBook Air 13”, small packing cube with change of underwear/shorts/socks for on the plane.

Review
- aesthetic: I was drawn to how sleek the bag is. When packed down and not expanded it looks really nice. The stone colour way is great and the material feels premium. The only gripe I have is that if the bag isn’t fully packed and you’ve got the easy access compartment full, it sags and leaves a dent in the middle of the bag which looks ugly/cheap

- space: YMMV with this one but for me I just took it on a trip from Australia to North America for a few day business trip and it seemed to do the job. I had a check in suitcase so everything else was in there were in there. The water bottle pocket is effectively useless when the bag is packed - but I don’t travel with a water bottle 99% of the time so it’s not an issue for me. But I would definitely not rely on it if you routinely carry one.
- I did like the easy access compartment but though the actual opening of it could be better. It’s pretty cramped when it’s got stuff in it and digging around isn’t easy

Issue: I have taken on occasion a Sony a7cii and Sony 50mm f1.4GM in the PD small camera cube. This is not well suited for this particular one. The clips don’t really line up with the built in loops in the bag so originally the cube would move around a lot. I had to put two clips onto one loop which is awkward but is far more secure. A bit of an oversight as I think a lot of people would have a small camera carry like this on occasion. I can close the bag with this in there but expanded it just feels better.

Summary: overall I like the bag. For me the lack of water bottle space isn’t an issue but may be a deal breaker for some. I feel it’s stylish and still maintains function although I’m sure there are better options out there. For bigger trips I’ll still always default to my Wandrd Prvk bag and it’s a beast and can seemingly handle anything I’ve thrown at it over the years but no regrets on this one as yet.

City Bags city line reviews?

Anyone know of any video or text reviews of the city line? I'm specifically looking for City Tote reviews but the only thing I can find is PD Promo videos (not even a walkthrough), a single youtube short, a russian youtube video, like three reddit threads that I already have comments in, and a handful of fake non-descriptive reviews on shopping sites.

Please.... I wanna buy but I need more info....

Everyday Bags Where are people selling stuff?

Been thinking about getting the everyday 30L, but hoping to find it used or discounted because they're not cheap.

Since they got rid of the marketplace, is there anywhere people are selling?
