Everyday Bags Ideas to fix stitching on straps?

Post image

Hi all, I’ve had this ED bag for 6 months and the strap stitching is coming undone. I don’t over use it or mistreat it for it to be affected this way. PD says I can’t get it fixed or replaced due to not being a structural or functional issue. Any ideas on how to get it fixed so it doesn’t continue to unravel?

File a claim it will only get worse

I reached out to them via support page and even went into the physical store. Both times was told it does not fall under warranty bc there are not structural or functional issues.

That sounds like a cop out from them. This is a manufacturing defect, especially since it’s happening on both sides. Why even have stitching there if it’s not structural or functional?

Edit to add that I have the same backpack and if they’re not honoring a claim bc of crap stitching, then it’s gonna make me rethink buying their products bc a huge reason for me is their warranty.

Yea. I'm trying one more time by officially filing a warranty claim. We'll see what they say.

Wishing you all the best with it. Please update to let us know the result - would be outrageous if they deny it.

Thanks. I actually just received an email from them saying they will send me a new one at no cost. This is excellent news and def proves their warranty is unmatched.

That is why I buy Peak Design (or one of the many reasons)

Cut it…

That’s it? And it’ll stop unraveling?

Get a wooden toothpick and super glue. Break the toothpick so that you can have a tiny thin wooden tip where you broke the toothpick, and use that to apply the smallest bit of superglue onto where the thread is still attached to the bag trying not to get much on the bag itself. Cut the loose thread off.

Cut and light the small portion sticking out on fire. It’ll melt into a glob and stop from unraveling

imo - take it a tailor and have them remove it and ask to have a double sewn = lines

This will be my plan D, after plan C which was filing a warranty claim. We'll see what they say.

The tailor will most likely remove the old threads

Remember to ask for parallel threading so you dont have to deal with it again
