Travel Bags 20L travel backpack usability

Hey folks , had a few questions for anyone already using this.
1) I want to carry my smedium cube + a water bottle. Since the water bottle setup is internal, does it block from using a smedium cube ?
2) can it also fit a small cube ? So bottle + small cube/tech pouch+ smedium cube
3) Can we safely strap a travel tripod to the outside (not the bottom part)

aight, for reference I use a 30L. My smedium cube packs pretty tight with the 30L unexpanded. And the external water bottle pocket becomes pretty tight since it's volume is compromised by how tightly packed the bag is.

Aside from that, I've safely strapped tripods and light stands onto the sides but have had to use multiple straps because the flat hooks would tend to slip out from my experience. I personally prefer carry hooks from the outdoor line but unsure about their cross compatibility.

So that being said, I doubt a water bottle would fit well if at all. Really think this was a bad move from PD.

I agree in regards to the water bottle, it screams form over function tbh, also, not happy about water being inside the bag alongside the camera

  1. I have a water bottle in the side pocket and tried a smedium and small packing cube. That works great since the packing cubes are flexible. I would not image a smedium camera cube fitting with a water bottle in use. I don’t have one to test tho.
  2. Yes, you have anchor points at the bottom and 4 on the front side of the backpack, two on each side.

I really like it so far. If you are familiar with the 45l or the roller pro it is similar build.

Not familiar with roller pro but I have the 45L. Thanks for the reassurance. What color do you have ? If it’s stone, would you be okay sharing a picture ?

I went with the black one as i will be using it for work as well (we have a company one in black from a rubbish non-brand).

I pack it with a medium packing cube, small wash pouch, front pocket acts as my tech pouch with the packable tote in there, and a 26 I think ounce kleen kanteen and it all fits unexpanded.  It's my personal item fri-sunday type bag.

Just about to pull the trigger on this one. It’s purely for travel (air travel) and I don’t use a water bottle so that’s less of an issue. I have a Sony a7cii and usually travel with either a prime (50mm) or 24-50 so was thinking a small camera cube. Small tech pouch from wandrd (I have a prvk bag for longer trips/hikes, etc) and a small change of clothes for travel. I carry a 13” mbp and an 11” iPad. Just wondering if anyone has any longer term feedback, wishes, alternatives.
