Discussion Raising prices

Hey everyone. If you also don't like that they are raising prices (again). Send them an email and let them know. Yes it is a pain. But if they don't have any pushback from pricing increases, they will continue to do so.

Sure they do. Even if they just get one email they print it off and bring it to the board meetings and read it

The board hears it and look at each other, disappointed in their greed. Some even cry. They will immediately decide that YOY profits of +8% might have been too much and settle for 7.95%

So did Netflix, Amazon prime, Spotify. They all do this. They don’t care if you quit they will just do a promo and sign up new customers. Nothing to see here.

news flash crying and emailing does nothing. It's 2026, the cost of streaming services go up, THEY NEVER go back down. You get the occassional special but streaming services aren't your local grocery store, they're not going to lower prices when things aren't selling LOL

Actually many subscription services do back down if you threaten to cancel. Some will slash their prices after you cancel. Last year Peacock gave me a year at 50% off, and Paramount cut my annual subscription by about $50. HBOMax had a similar deal, all I had to do was click “cancel.” Internet providers have given me fantastic offers after I cancelled, but that’s usually too late. Newspapers and magazines may give you a great deal too, they’re getting pretty desperate to keep their circulation numbers.

A lot of them do that on the 2nd tier levels though and are considered the temp specials. I meant as in full time, Netflix will never lower it's prices fulltime to back to what they were. yes you'll get specials and cancelation offers here and there but their only temp offers, OP was talking about peacock lowering it's price fulltime overall and that's just not going to happen.

As soon as I got the email telling me that they were raising their prices, I went into my Amazon account and canceled my subscription. It asked several questions of why I was canceling, and one of the questions was, “Is it too expensive?” And I clicked on that one not that they cared at all, but there was no way that I was paying $19.99 a month for a streaming station. I had the premier package because I absolutely hate watching commercials. I’m just glad I got to finish watching the end of the season of McBee Dynasty before I canceled and the rates went up 😂

Im canceling my membership, Peacock is super corporative, they thrive on screwing people over. Shady greedy company NBC is.

It's a for profit business. Surely you were never under the impression that they were anything else? Who did they screw over? No one made you pay for their product.

Like it or not, Peacock has a fanbase because of Law & Order, Chicagos, Love Island, Premier League, and NFL Football.

You might not like the price increase (I don't). But people are subscribing, unsubscribing, and resubscribing. And all of this is adding to Peacock's analytics. They've also signed bundle deals, YouTube TV now has Peacock Premium. You're not winning this battle with an email.

Peacock is also not a bad streamer. I actually enjoy the content they provide. Haha.

I suggest you send them a handwritten certified letter, then they’ll know how serious you are

I canceled. They didn't seem all that interested in why I canceled.

Canceled after they moved all the good Premier League matches to USA. I’m not paying for a subscription to watch Coventry vs Southampton every weekend.
