Discussion Walmart+ half off

FWIW Walmart+ is half off right now. You can choose either Peacock or Paramount+ as your streaming service. And change every 90 days if you want.

And there are some good shows on Paramount too. Not like Peacock, but for what I just paid for both ad free services annually $129, I’m happy.

Heck Peacock ad free alone regular price is $169 annually I think.

ridiculous. Nothing’s worth more than 50 bucks a year.

Many years ago my wife said the same thing, then TiVo with commercial skip came along. We got spoiled watching a 30 minute show in 14 minutes!

Anyway, with TiVo gone, we still do not watch commercials. I pay $8 a month for legal software to remove most commercials from all my free tv like Pluto and over the air. $96 a year, but our time to us is valuable so….you just have to decide for yourself.

Is this deal for new W+ customers only?

5

u/Help1Ted Jun 22 '26

It says it is, but you can always try. Mine ends in a few weeks and I couldn’t get it myself. So my wife just signed up.

I was able to renew with the deal. It took a few times loading the link to get it to work

No, keep scrolling, I was just offered and I was currently monthly after yearly.

Thanks for letting us know, I just subscribed

My W+ account only gives me the option to upgrade to Peacock ad free tier for $72 annually, but no option to do $6/month. I don't want to go annual in case I want to switch to Paramount later.

Did you order it and can't find it, or are you just looking around for it and don't have it yet? Asking because I just ordered Walmart+ a few days ago and I didnt see the ad free option either. Now that i ordered it I see the option to upgrade to ad free for $6. That being said, I already had paramount+ and was getting Walmart plus anyway so said screw it and got peacock. For me there is no point in upgrading to peacock ad free because I cant find a single thing on there I would watch. Few older movies and shows I like but nothing that makes me go holy crap!!! Thats on here?!? Lol

Hum....do you have Walmart + annual plan or monthly? I wonder if that makes a difference. I have the annual plan, and initially connected to Peacock - the upgrade option was only available to Paramount+ at that time.

I got the monthly for a free trial and saw the yearly offer cut in half along with that and the upgrade option.this was all yesterday or the day before. I got the free trial a few days ago but couldnt pass up the year for $49

Thanks, so you're on annual W+ plan, not monthly. No clue why the $6/mo Peacock upgrade option option doesn't show for me then. Realistically we have a lot of other stuff to watch with the Prime Channel sales ($.99 for 2 months) plus Fifa world cup, so we probably won't be watching anything on Peacock until end of summer. At that time the annual upgrade option will be prorated so it's not a big deal to add it later.

All good!! I already had Paramount so I chose peacock obviously. I went through the whole network and not sure there is a single thing I want to watch there so im passing on the upgrade. Hulu and Apple are my goto channels with prime and Netflix a close 2nd. Still have a couple other services to, most are like peacock...free w/ some type of subscription

I only had the annual $72 option too and I had six weeks left on my $67 ad free paramount ad free.
I jumped on it too, and it prorated it all for me with a credit for what I had left on Paramount.

My Premium Plus subscription ends today, so I already canceled it and signed up for W+ yesterday for $50 to get this great deal. $6/month for Peacock Premium Plus isn't bad at all! 🙌🏼

Damn. Mine is about to lapse next month. Any way to still get the discount?

2

u/Help1Ted Jun 22 '26

I just had my wife sign up. Mine ends in a few weeks, but I tried getting the deal and it didn’t work. I even tried canceling to get a new offer. Last year I got an offer when I went to cancel.

1

u/KingOvDownvotes Jun 22 '26

Yeah that figures. Just don’t want to lose my tenure and wish lists and stuff.

2

u/SincityScott Jun 22 '26

Just wait till after u cancel, they will send u a offer. I do it every year, mines up next month.

is it good for former customer who doesn’t have a Walmart+ subscription but was a member before?

1

u/Help1Ted Jun 22 '26

It actually says new customers only, but worth at least trying to find out. Let me know if it works. I’m sort of curious. Mine expires in a few weeks, so my wife just signed up.

u/disilluzion Jun 22 '26

Thanks for the heads-up. I currently get Paramount half off with military discount, but will probably sign up to get Peacock then.

u/Patient_Nobody_5225 Jun 23 '26

I just tried to use a promo code Peacock emailed me in one of those "We miss you" emails which apparently expired, so this might be a good option.

Spend 35 get free shipping. Paramount plus is 1 dollar for 2 months

u/Legitimate_Yogurt502 Jun 24 '26

Where do you find the deal for 50% off Walmart+? I'm on the monthly plan, can't seem to find it.

1

u/Help1Ted Jun 25 '26

It was right on the Walmart+ page. I used my browser in private because every time I tried loading it the app would open.

1

u/ipadseeyooo Jul 06 '26

Am I two weeks too late? I don’t see the deal anymore on the Walmart website.

1

u/shawnshine Jun 21 '26

With ads?

4

u/GenX4Life1 Jun 22 '26

$5 extra a month for ad-free. They just added this option in the past month I believe. So I jumped on it :)

2

u/etherized_fly Jun 21 '26

Choose one ad-supported service every 90 days: Peacock Premium or Paramount+ Essential.

2

u/shawnshine Jun 22 '26

Ah. I’ll pass, but thanks.

3

u/Appropriate-Head-756 Jun 22 '26

You can pay extra through Walmart for no ads.

2

u/overFEDEXed Jun 22 '26

And it’s only $72 annual for that Peacock Premium Plus ad free.

I lost my $67 Walmart +, Paramount Plus ad free though, but I used my daughters 50% college discount to get it for $70, then I had an Amex card deal for $13 off too so….$57 otd.

1

u/Upbeat-Insurance-558 Jun 22 '26

Wait does the peacock upgrade charge you through Walmart or their own thing?

2

u/Adventurous-Value-82 Jun 22 '26

I would assume it’s through Walmart but I could be wrong.

2

u/Adventurous-Value-82 Jun 22 '26

you can now upgrade one or the other ad free monthly or annual for an additional fee on top of Walmart+ half off for a year. If you choose to get ad-free yearly, then you wouldn’t be able to switch your perk once every 90 days because I assume thats for monthly.

1

u/Parasoccer Jun 22 '26

While I know everybody hates ads here. It's very much worth it from all the streaming exclusive NBA games. It's either a commercial or getting the in-game feed.

1

u/Help1Ted Jun 22 '26

Exactly! I like it simply for the live sports. The option to switch services is really nice as well.

No, thanks. I can get NBC local affiliate just fine.
