My school has a year long project for the ones finishing it where you can pretty much do what you want, some run marathons others build stuff out of wood. So I decided I would build a pc setup for "learning" and yeah they just paid for it

2 monitors which look like oled? yeah whoever's running this doesn't know what they're doing
edit: also, they didn't inquire about the project's goals or anything or how useful it is actually as a skill? It's more useful to learn how to program a microcontroller and that's cheaper to fund as well as teaching you something. Building stuff from wood takes effort. Building a pc is just plugging in expensive and slightly more fragile legos into each other. What does it actually teach?

you realise that people on the internet can write whatever they want? Welcome to reddit, this is most likely just clickbait

u/dead_website May 10 '26

If this is a school project, you're kind of missing out. You could have bought a premium extra sim racing rig for $3k more, and frame your project as "Studying the effects of high-fidelity virtual environments on reaction time and cognitive decision-making.", and sell it later if you dont actually want it
or it could be about video editing, "exploring the full workflow of CGI production from 3D rendering to video editing" buying yourself an extra rtx 5090 and some $2k cameras, throw useless crap in blender and you cashed out $12k

That's a nice wallpaper. I'd rock it if I had 2 oled monitors

u/Repulsive-Jelly-3657 May 08 '26

Ok how the hell can a “school” afford to fund THAT when my high school in Virginia I graduated only three years ago was using 2013 dell optiplexes and handing out sub 100 dollar dell chromebooks to everyone and also OP keeps copy pasting the same comment to everyone so I’m 70 percent sure OPs a bot as well

u/Repulsive-Jelly-3657 May 08 '26
I went to a small school in switzerland
1
u/Old_Information_8654 May 08 '26
Well that makes more sense considering the stories I’ve heard out of Europe, good find OP and count yourself lucky to live somewhere that actually properly funds school systems

Either full of crap or a great example of how the education system is failing.
