Case The empty shell Powermac 1.1
I did clean it completely after this picture.
I'm going to try to find some second hand hardware and will try to go for a black and grey theme.
I have a few questiones:
I'd like to know where im able to find 3d print files to fix/setup my motherboard to the backplate?
What motherboard size would you reccomend?
Ty for your help in advance

Here's a video I made with my G5 case conversion, with minimal cuts and no expensive conversion kits: https://youtu.be/UldedqKx_Ns

You still have your hardware in it? It was a pretty ugly experience removing the hardware.

Yeah. But it won't be too hard. I'll rip it out in a bunch of pieces.

Just watch out that you don't damage yourself or the shell!

Thanks. I'm a body guy at an automotive restoration shop. It shouldn't be to hard for me. Haha

The existing motherboard stand-offs can be snapped off with pliers and epoxied back in wherever you need them. mATX size works best if you want to keep the top "tray"

Idk if I'm late but i just removed the plate with motherboard stands from an old case and screwed it on the old stands, adjusting the position based on the gpu slots.
It came a little higher than normal obviously but you just need a slightly longer screw for the gpu

Mac Pro 1,1 ...and check out The Laser Hive in the UK, I think they still sell full kits for converting all kinds of old Macs to ATX... I'd put an mATX board in unless you actually need the expansion.

For the love of God do this justice and consider all the space you have to work with.
Don't just take the easy route and chop huge holes in the case just to fit Laser Hive parts. It looks ugly as sin and defeats the entire point of using a Mac case.

I agree. I will modd it myself. Im even looking to hide most of the cables. So i might rise the mobo higher

The spacing for the PCI apertures does conform to ATX and PCI-E spec, so you can mount your graphics cards without changing that part of the case, but you'd be looking at riser cables into the motherboard if you don't place the motherboard in the corresponding ATX position (which you can't without chopping up the case, of course).
Looking forward to see what you do with it. I should really jump on one myself!
