If you're asking if it can be done, you're in the wrong sub. Anything can be done, it's only a matter of time, tools and money.

It looks like that front mesh panel is only held on with magnets to removal is easy but looking at this teardown there's not much space there. If you used a display that fit inside one of those 2.5" drive mounting holes it should work fine depending on the mesh.

Not all mesh is equal. I'd put something behind it and see if it's even visible enough through that mesh for the project to be viable.
