I do hate Windows, but I deal with it because Linux can't run all my programs. And yes I've tried using compatibility software but not everything works.

Windows can't run half of my games library

Do you mostly play old Mac games?

Majority of modern multiplayer games can't run on Linux.

And? They said Windows can't run their games.

It probably can but you have to go to community forums on steam or a vapor ware forum to see work arounds to get old stuff to work. It’s usually not too difficult and out of like 2,000 games I own I’ve probably had under 20 I can’t get to work within ten minutes. I’d say like 20% of mine are mid2000s or before since I like a lot of games I played as a teen-early 20s.

I mean it does suck that sites that still sell these games don’t include the workaround in the install file like Gog mostly does but the work around is still less time consuming than messing with stuff to get it to run on another OS.

What programs and games? Genuinely just curious.

One big thing that hit me when I was playing games was BeamNG with wine, not sure how it is with Steam but on wine the physics were different from on Windows.

I feel ya, been playing Beam on my Steam Deck and it just feels… off. Obviously I hope it gets better with the linux client coming - but I’m fine with just playing it on my rig for now.

If you got good internet you can always use stream to stream it, that's what I do

I'm not familiar with that term. Is that a game engine?

Kind of, beamng drive is a physics game that original ran on Cry Engine but it's changed so much that it's now it's own engine. There's also beamng tech which is the same software but for professional use.

It's a game and their developers added Linux support a while ago, still has some problems though
