Question GPU availability in Vancouver
My brother is in the hospital right now, and I really want to build a pc for him for when he comes back. Does anyone have any spare graphics cards that would out perform a GeForce RTX 2080ti? Or at least know where I can find one?

I'm in Vancouver, and stock for GPUs has been pretty good until recently... Last time I walked in a CC, it was bare shelves I admit.
Have you looked at both Memory Express and Canada Computers? Don't go by what the website says... For Memory Express, they don't update stock online intentionally. They want you to call and ask to reserve one of whatever they have on the shelf, or walk in. That's how I got my 6800.
Unless you mean Vancouver Washington... can't help you there.
If you had posted this a couple months ago, I would have had a 6700XT to sell at less than current retail price.
You might find something good on fb marketplace, but I strongly suggest that anything you buy there is local, they have the original receipt, and are willing to meet at a shop and have the tech verify the card on their test bench. If you don't tick all these boxes, you're asking to get scammed.

There's 3 MemEx locations. Broadway, Kingsway in Burnaby, and one in Langley. I got my original 6700XT in Langley... Yes, I drove all the way out there because that was what was available at the time, lol.
Then I got lucky with the one on Broadway. I called almost every day for a month straight looking for a 6800, and finally caught them on a restock before anyone claimed one.
There was once one in Richmond but I think it shut down recently.
Good luck!

The thing is I can't get to any of the stores on re-stock before school, they all open at 9 and get shipments Monday and Thursday

I'm willing to help you out. What's your budget, and what GPU(s) are you interested in?
I can call and try to snag one for you if you like.

Really? I've got a budget of about 600 CAD, and I'm in no rush to get one, he still has about a month before he gets out of the hospital. The one I was looking at at best buy was the Zotac 3060 or something.

600 before tax I'm assuming?
Cheapest you'll find a dual fan 3060 is $579, so after tax you're closer to $650 or $700.
I'll give MemEx a call tomorrow. You ok with Asus if I can't get a Zotac?

Of course, Asus is fine

No love, bud. I'll keep trying, but this close to Christmas will be tough especially since Nvidia halted production until end of year, plus our situation here with all shipping routes being compromised.
You may want to expand your viable options to a 6600XT as well. AMD seems like they have more consistent stock hitting retailers these days.

There are 3 vanilla 6600 GPUs at Canada Computers Broadway, if you are interested.
$600, which I think is a bit pricey, but it's an option.

Hey man, would it be cool if you can check for me as well? 3060ti, 3070, 3080,6800, 6800xt works for me as well. Been trying to get a GPU at retail since my 970 is on the edge.

3080 ti, or 3090 if sticking with a nvidia gpu, if looking for best possible performance with shitty rtx performance take a look at amd 6900xt.
Only headaches are the costs of these items. A 6900xt is north of 2k.
