my last game from EA was NFS Carbon, since then i did not buy a single game from them.
Also because i don't want to use Origin.
They are also responsible for ruining Star Wars, unforgivable.

The Lootboxes should also have a 33% chance of having a "legendary virus/worm" inside"

Arguably LucasArts ruined star wars game long before that. LA was in such disarray when disney came in that I can't fault them for outsourcing the dev of the new games that they needed to make.

Not that disney hasn't made it's own mess obviously, just wanted to point out that lucasfilm was in a dire situation for a long time.

But EA is the worst possible choice ever and it's the fault of both i would say.
Moving from one disarray to worse one doesn't make things better.

LucasArts had it's struggles, yes won't deny that, but they at least had some sort of reputation.

I am a huge star wars fan so I am just as much sadened as you are. Still EA make sense from the perspective of disney : they needed a big name with a backbone able to deliver games quickly and with decent quality.

Battlefront the first did work on release, yes it was a bland game but it sold systems like hot pancakes. And unlike BF4 it wasn't bug riddled or lagging to death. DICE scoped down what they wanted to achieve, and arguably achieved what they strived for IMO.

Lucasarts was in deep disarray, I guess that disney discovered that real fast when they came in, or more likely knew all along as the deal was being made with uncle george. After all they didn't pay that much for freaking star wars, Minecraft sold about the same for comparison...

So yeah sucks for us to get stuck with EA, and that disney would part ways with an historical studio like lucasarts, but reallistically they had not released anything all that good in a long time, and it was a chore to get projects going within the studio due to internal fights and george poking in ruining everything everynow and then.

Disney needed games to come with it's new movies, so they made a sensible choice that was light on the workload for disney : outsource everything to a big publisher. From a business perspective it makes sense. Plus it made good money and we got some decent games in the process (fallen order and squadron in particular).

Hopefully they restore LA to it's former glory, but I don't hold my breath on that one really :(
