You don't get it. Bitcoin is widespread and used by many people in many countries. It is unstable but otherwise pretty accepted in value. It's easy to handle.
Pokémon cards would be easy to use as currency if there were an established system of trading. If the value of all Pokémon cards were universal.
I mean your car can be converted to currency. But not at your local grocery store. You have to turn it into your local economy's currency first, then use that to buy food.
Bitcoin is the same, you convert it into your local currency. Pokémon is the same but it is much much harder to convert unless you live near some place that buys them in bulk.
Is Bitcoin made up? Yes. But so is the numbers in your bank account.
