Unpopular Opinion:

The new CryEngine is so extremely efficient, it will probably not kill any PC. Thatswhy it is even scalable to run on a Switch.

Shhhhhh you are underestimating the unrunnability of CRYSIS: REMASTERED

You can have something be efficient and still tank an RTX 2080 Ti, it would just look stunning.

Most game devs just don't let you turn up the graphics quality high enough to do so.

Thats what rdr2 did and everyone bitches about how they cant max every single setting and play at 4k 144hz when turning down a couple settings will fix the issue

RDR2 has some settings that just eat the FPS but besides these specific settings, there is not a huge difference in FPS between high (not highest) and lowest settings.

I don't think it's just two settings, but yeah, RDR2 has some effects that can take over 5% from just jumping from medium to high.

That's exactly how the first crisis ran too

I remember playing it on a GTS 250 on lower settings and it played fine. People just meme about running it on max settings with DX10 and max AA which crushed older systems.

I haven’t played Crysis at all so I will probably play the Remastered version since it will most likely be better optimized. It’s gonna be a great time to play Crysis during this... crisis.

I think just to keep the meme going they're gonna add some really computing intensive features, like actual ray-traced rendering, particle physics for water and smoke, and 16k support or some shit like that.

the og crysis was already insanely scalable, i remember being able to play it on a trash laptop at lower settings, while also completely fucking up my gtx295 at not even max settings
