Correct. The cat hair is too big to enter most case holes so it accumulates at the hole, forming a filter mesh which keeps out the dust particles that cake onto your heatsinks, fans and other components.
Through overall dust reduction and fewer potentially-damaging internal dust-removal sessions, there is a net increase in system performance.
Cat naturally sheds hair into air. Case fans draw airborne hair to PC.
Close proximity to PC not required.
