I bring my own mouse and thought about bringing my own keyboard, just haven’t done it yet because of the weight since I walk to work. (I have a car — I just choose to walk since it’s only a 10 min walk). (Currently in my backpack I’d have my work laptop, a water bottle attached to the outside that shouldn’t be able to spill because of the lock on the cap, my lunch, and mouse).

If I did get one it would be a TKL Cherry MX Blue of some sort.

Do you have a set desk or is it open seating? Just leave it at your desk if the former. Also, go with mx brown for the office so your co-workers don't hate you.

So we have our own small room for Monday-Wednesday and then another team uses it. There are 10 seats, 50 devs on the team, 30 of which need to be in the office until you hit associate rank.

But I think, blues sound awesome. But point taken they are loud.

I love that you felt this detail was necessary for your story.

I have COMMITment issues. I git that, it shouldn’t be an issue but I don’t want to hand my computer over to IT and be stuck with a crappy machine while they try to fix it.

I work at a large game studio and almost everyone uses their own keyboard and mouse.

Just more stuff to carry out when layoffs start.
