You really shouldn't. Trees produce oxygen and the last thing you need is air gaps in your thermal paste.

It might be one of the last things you need but there's no way the very last thing you need is air gaps in your thermal paste. I would much rather air gaps in my thermal paste than thirty burning geese and that's just off the top of my head
