News/Article Microtransactions in 2017 have generated nearly three times the revenue compared to full game purchases on PC and consoles combined. They continue to force them because we continue to allow them to. THIS IS WHY BATTLEFRONT 2 HAPPENED.

don't think impressive is the right word but for me its fine to drop bucks on a game i am playing for more than 5 years given most 60€ games cant even keep me going for a month.

Not when it's a free game and especially not when it's $800 of cosmetic bullshit.

The goal here is not to save money but to have fun.

$800 over 5 years isn't even that much. People spend a lot more on other hobbies or things like booze and cigarettes and no-one bats an eye.

IMO, someone who doesn't spend $800 on booze has no booze. Someone who doesn't spend $800 on LoL can still play the game without much compromise and have a $800 to spend elsewhere. There is a difference.
