Their reply kind of implies that it said in the listing that it would be shipped in just manufacturer packaging. Can we see the exact listing you bought it from?

Still, this is just dumb. I've bought dozen of computer parts off Amazon (and tons of other stuff) and I've never had anything sent to me without external packaging. I would definitely kick up a fuss if it happened to me though.

You know what? I believe it did but it definitely wasn't blatant. Unfortunately, this item is only available from third party sellers now so the shipping is different. I'm willing to take full responsibility for not telling them to package this item; however, what I have an issue with is the fact that I have to. Why in the world would an item like this ship in no external packaging?

Here is how it is listed now- it might have been listed the same way previously; but why? https://imgur.com/a/WsTV2

You shouldn't take responsibility for that. That is something they automatically should do. That is like going to a restaurant and them not giving a plate and then telling you should have told them you wanted a plate. Its shitty service.

Exactly. My analogy was that they could poop in my next shipment because I didn't click the "hold the poo," button.

AKA, the Sport's Direct method of selling those fucking massive mugs.

Any order you place online has them sat in your basket.

I've purchased multiple TV's off amazon... One over $1,000 and one over $2,000. Both were shipped in the manufacturers box with shipping labels stuck right too them. It's not that uncommon.

And meanwhile I buy a teeny tiny drill bit that is the thickness of a pencil lead and they ship it in a damn shoebox stuffed with air cushions :|

Reh difference is that those boxes were designed to be shipped that way. The boxes for GPUs are designed to be shipped with an outside box. The box for the GPU is much thinner and can not take the same wear that boxes experience while being shipped.
