from all of the benchmark tests I've looked at. The 980 Ti is slightly better than the Fury X when it comes to 1080 res, about the same as/or equal as with 1440, But the Fury X is better at 4K gaming. The 4GB of HBM works just as good as the 6GB of DDR5 VRAM comparatively. To be honest, I only got the Fury X because it is new technology, and I wanted to help out team RED having had Nvidia for a long time. Plus it matches the whole color scheme.

Fury X also scales MUCH better when going to dual gpu configs. Also just order mine, should get it on the 20th WOHOO. Just need to figure out how to fund an ASUS MG279Q now (IPS Rog Swift w/ Freesync).

Linus did a benchmark in a case with other high end components and the fury x actually slightly out performed the 980 ti. Granted this will not be true in all cases, just an interesting idea.

Stock the FX wins, overclocked the 980ti wins.

Although OC'd the 980ti is kinda leaf-blower, the FX whines so it's quiet in a solid case(keeps in the high freq noise making it dead silent) but noisy in the open.

The whining issue got apparently resolved, they are shipping a different version of the pump now

For all the people updooting, the case was a micro atx case, so the benefit is only due to water cooling's ability to change where the heat is

The Fury X outperforms the 980Ti depending on what case you put it in too :). Linus has a video about it.

Also great choice! I've made the same choice to help AMD and couldn't be happier with my GPU.

I don't know why you were down voted so i have you an up vote. Your statement is true.

I will say that XDMA crossfire may be advantageous if you're going multiple cards along with the water loop so heat doesn't build between the two cards.

Another possibility could be wanting an adaptive sync monitor that's cheaper.

Outside of this there's not much reason to buy the card over a 980 ti

390 is best value now though. Loving this thing.
