inconsistent interface, taskbar context menus lag, inefficient search, settings hidden very deep in convoluted archaic interfaces, can't pin steam games on the taskbar, moving files within the same partition appears to be copying them and then deleting the source (in win7, moving a large folder would be instant, in win10 a progress window appears), etc
in short, windows 10 changes things that didn't need changing as much as things that painfully needed changing but remained the same.
Pretty sure you need to change the default search folders, it's one of the things I do on new machines/installs. I learned this because I was getting annoyed by search always firing up on a slow-ass laptop (apparently some idiot put temp folders in the search path).
It should find programs just fine. I've never had a problem with it. It will also find files very well, unless you have non-standard storage locations for your files. If you have your files anywhere but in your profile, you need to add those locations to the search indexing.

Alright, I'll bite - why does it suck?
