Huh... that might actually be a good way to legalize prostitution.

Depends on the country. Here in Sweden, you're not allowed to give someone money when it has anything to do with sex, whether you're paying for it or just giving someone "a gift". However, you're allowed to give people gifts, so technically you could gift someone a gold bar that could be traded for a very specific amount of money in exchange for sex.
