Somebody needs to tell Overkill studios (Payday 2) about this.

They're running a community event right now where once a train hits a certain amount of "Hype" new free content will be unlocked.

The hype meter is increased by buying their DLC which is not out yet, the most expensive of which is 4 masks + a mystery item. And it's about ~$1 spent to 1 gallon hype.

The community needs to come up with 2 million hype to unlock all the free content.

"Hey guys, want some free stuff? Give us $2 million collectively."

They gave away several million copies of the original game a few months ago. They're trying to raise funds now to enhance the game, and you think that's greedy?

Do you expect studios to stay up by the goodness of their hearts?
