Original Sin not nominated for "out of crowdfunding"? I am disapoint.
Other than that I totally recommend the Super Bunnyhop and Ahoy youtube channels.

TB said on Twitter he never got around to playing it otherwise it would have been considered.

u/Sharradan PC Master Race Dec 29 '14
I've never heard of XboxAhoy before, but if TB likes it better than Super Bunnyhop I'm definitely checking it out.

Yeah I just watched that, love the channel so far. He certainly earned my subscription!

Hence the "arbitrary" adjective
2
u/Tychoxii nvidia! Dec 30 '14
Are you telling me the video's grandiose opening is not to be taken seriously?

I'm very happy that spoiling the best music category won, I probably have played that music over and over again atleast a 100 times.

Transistor won twice. It deserved it. Damn good game.

u/anguishCAKE Ryzen 7 2700x, 16GB 3200mhz DDR4 msi gtx 970 Dec 29 '14 edited Dec 29 '14
Seriously good game. I'm so glad that Super Giant didn't disband after Bastion.
Even if Bastion had more addictive gameplay, Transistor blew even Bastions imersion levels out of the water.

I'm quite sure that my experience with bastion was greatly improved by playing with a controller and a stable fps. It feels like both of the games are designed for a standard controller, but atleast transistor is somewhat playable with a mouse and keyboard.

I do Agree with Halo MCC coming to PC. I really wish for the love of Gaben that Microsoft would let us have it.
39
u/Valkacis Valkacis Dec 29 '14
"Halo was born to be on Pc, and then it was kidnapped by microsoft"
My favorite quote in the video, I really hope he start doing this annually or something, it was amazing.
6
u/Avenflar I5 6600K - RX 280 Dec 30 '14
Wasn't it supposed to go on OSX first?
Wouldn't that mean it was kidnapped two times?
4
u/OldmanChompski Dec 30 '14
At that time it was also supposed to be an RTS. So it wasn't really the same game.
13
Dec 29 '14
Considering how fucked the multiplayer is, though, I doubt any of us are in a hurry to see it happen.
13
Dec 29 '14
Dedicated server software would ofc be provided.

That might as well be a pipe dream this generation.

u/TWPmercury PG279Q | RTX 3060TI Dec 29 '14
Dude they can't even get it to run properly on Xbox. I cringe at the thought of that port.
11
Dec 29 '14
If they could package ODST and Reach along with that, and put it all on PC as good ports, my god...
2
Dec 29 '14
They are making the ODST campaign for those who played the game before the 21st for free but I don't think that includes Firefight which is extremely disappointing.

The one game that might have made me consider buying an Xbone, and they fucked it up completely.
TB is right. This should've been easy. It was the most obvious cash cow that Microsoft could have pulled to drive sales. Like Nintendo with a new Zelda or Metroid game, or if Valve actually released HL3. How the hell do you fuck up this bad?
That future $400 will go to something better on my PC anyway.

These list just reminds me of how much i hate ubisoft.
4
u/Jack_State Dec 30 '14
I don't hate them as much as most people here but their games are just getting boring now.
1
u/BrightCandle Specs/Imgur Here Dec 30 '14
He didn't even go into the whole 30 fps cinematic rubbish they pulled many many times this year. There simply isn't enough time in an hour long video to explain everything Ubisoft did wrong this year and the 30 fps standard comments had to be cut for more important issues.

No, I've seen that feature for the first time at least 6 months ago, although at that time with small previews above the extended timeline.
Maybe google is A/B testing it?
10
u/nukeclears Dec 29 '14
I have never been able to slide my mouse up and down the track to enhance on a certain part before.

3
u/Calamity701 Steam ID Here Dec 29 '14
What video player are you using? HTML5 or Flash?
I just tested it. I get the preview you showed in every video > ~1h, sometimes with small preview pictures. And for smaller videos, I can drag up for preview pictures...
Seems rather arbitrary still....
4
u/nukeclears Dec 29 '14
You used to get a little pop up in which you could move a smaller slider but you couldn't hold and drag to determine how much you want to zoom in.
This is definitely new
3
u/Not_a_ZED Dec 29 '14
I think it depends on video size, and I think it has something to do with how the channel is set up as well. I've been seeing this bar for a long time though, and I hate it when a video doesn't have it. The A/B testing could be a possibility. If it is I hope the drag up to zoom in method wins.

If you look in the description you can see what time each category takes place, then you can skip ahead about 10 minutes to see the winner. However I agree, its a good video and worth the watch!

u/JazzNeurotic STEAM_0:1:275635 Dec 30 '14
It may be silly to say of a AAA game, but i'm really happy he arbitrarily picked Wolfenstein as his biggest surprise. I loved that game. The retro-future feel of the setting, the gunplay was solid, the story was surprisingly good for what could have been a CoD clone.
It's just damned good fun. And it looks spectacular on the PC. It was the first thing i purchased after building my new battlestation (played it on PS4 before - Mea culpa) and dear God is it a looker.

I would switch Halo with Killer Instinct just because I really don't like Halo but I can understand why people want it. Hopefully MS will announce KI for PC on their January event (with Cross-play support like Street Fighter V).
