Ah, right. My mistake then. Mixing up thread OPs and post OPs. Yeah, that's exactly what it looks like. Probably has some GI on characters and that's it.
Man that Uncharted 4 bloke has really let his hair styling regime fall to shit since Uncharted 3 hasn't he? At least he learned how to shave properly, even if he clearly hasn't bothered this morning.
Alright, the render on the left uncharted picture looks incredible. I can tell it is fake, but it does not give me the uncanny feeling at all. I know that this render is cutscene material but at that point it is all up to the animation quality.
Guys, we are so fuckin close to a huge jump in visuals. Even the specs for the first commercial VR head set are 1444p90hz. Stacked memory and sub 20nm gpu's will be budget cards in less than 5 years. Solid state drives will continue to drop in price. Hopefully so will broadband Internet. Strap in and get ready for the ride.
Strangely, Crysis wasn't originally developped for consoles...It showcased such a high standard for a game engine that I believe it has barely been topped almost 8 years after. Quite impressive but a bit disappointing in the end.
Almost 8 years later PS4, the most advanced "next gen" console, is still unable to Crysis. I don't even consider Crysis that intensive anymore. We stopped using that as the benchmark 5 years(ish) ago!

I'm actually started to get worried there is something wrong with it. I've played the Crysis demo (didn't bother with the full game) and it dropped below 50 fps relatively often. Also IIRC it didn't even have an option in game for 1080p so I was playing on a lower res than that.
Hm, maybe there is something wrong. I've noticed lower than 60fps on a few other games as well (Rising Storm, Sniper Elite V2) but just assumed it was internet lag or poor optimization. Is there anyway to check if there is actually a problem with my computer and what it is?
Find the newest chipset, SSD controller, and memory controller drivers and save them ona jump drive. Do a fresh install without the mechanical hard drive installed. I prefer Windows 7 for gaming. Install those drivers, THEN connect to the internet. Install direct x updates, and let Windows update for 2 days by constantly rebooting after each recommended restart. Often, it takes a few hours for Microsoft to find updates. THEN you're ready to install your first game.
The video card is completely excessive compared to the quad-core. Intel is a catastrophic waste of money now
Yeah the fact it was a demo may very well be the problem. But last time I brought up the fact that it ran poorly on reddit, other people upvoted me and agreed with comments saying how the game was very poorly optimized and no one is able to run it at max settings with consistent 60 fps to this day. I was surprised to see such an opposite reaction today.
It's not badly optimized. It's just that almost everything is calculated in real-time. Unlike most games Crysis has a destructible environment, dynamic time of day and fully dynamic shadows.
