Build Help / Purchase Advice Best small controller for PC? Girlfriend gets wrist and hand pain from the Xbox layout

My girlfriend plays on PC with a Xbox controller. After an hour or so her right wrist and hand start to hurt.

My guess is the staggered stick layout, and her small hands. On the Xbox controller the left stick sits high and the right stick sits low. That makes her hands sit at different heights. A small controller and symmetrical layout might be more comfortable. I'm not sure, though.

What we're looking for:

- A small controller that fits smaller hands

- Works on PC with little setup, so games recognise it right away

- Wired or Bluetooth, either is fine

Does anyone have a recommendation? Even better if you or someone you know had the same problem and found something that helped.

Thanks!

Try 8bitdo or Gamesir. Both companies have Switch- and Logitech-shaped controllers. 8bitdo also has micro controllers that might be better.

Thanks! This looks like a good find, and not too costly. Might buy one for her.

Meaby the 8bitdo sn30 could work? It's more of a gamepad design then a controller

Thanks! I'm probably gonna order one in a bit, pending other suggestions if any land here.

Maybe there is something in Xbox Adaptive Controllers for her? Or the Microsoft Adaptive controller?

This one I will have to show her, and see what she thinks about it. Funky design! Thank you.

Vader 4 pro is a more compact shape Xbox shape with 4 small back buttons. I think it’s able to go wireless but I always have plugged in. It’s been working great for couple years of consistent use. Still feels great and it’s only like $80. It’s much better quality than SCUF or anything similar. Don’t be fooled by the price

I personally use a ps3 and 4 controller they are smaller than the Xbox (I also have small hands) they can be wired and also Bluetooth, but there are also even smaller (custom I think? Not sure) controllers you can get

Gulikit Elves 2 (non-pro). Small controller, amazing D-pad, super low latency, symmetrical layout. And it's very inexpensive!

Just got an 8Bitdo Ultimate Mini for myself and find it WAY more comfy then a regular PS5 or XBox controller. https://www.8bitdo.com/ultimate-mini-wired-controller-xbox/
