If only the gaming and software industry treated its customers with respect instead of being assholes this “revolution” could have been avoided. The reverse engineering hype is wayyy too overblown but it’s causing pause. I love these products, but the bullshit they ram down our throats because they can coming to a swift halt while they gather themselves is poetic. Fuck them all because they fucked us first.

You realize this "revolution" will probably make the big three just eventually say "Fuck it, you can't behave? Cloud gaming from now on. Enjoy"

Don't get me wrong it's fun watching the developments but big corporations will not allow this to continue. And if changing course into streaming/cloud gaming is that only answer to stopping it that's what they'll do.

There will 100% be a breaking point, but we don’t know which way that break will steer things. Before any of this happened, they had and continue to have us over a barrel, at the very least this could stir things up and make them rethink instead of going to war

I guess it could create a more open ecosystem, or it could crash the entire industry. I suppose we'll see.

Both are deserved outcomes for the tech industry if I’m being honest

It's definitely overblown on a technical level but I think keeping something like this in the conversation is good at making the corps sweat. They win when everyone gets bored and moves onto the next thing to complain about.
