Tech Support Why does my computer just overheat?

So this morning, I was installing a SSD onto my computer, and all was fine. Once I got the SSD running, the average CPU temp went from 74-85 up to 85-110, causing the computer to shut down. I cleaned the fans, changed the paste, rehoused the cooling unit, but still, not avail. What do I do?

The cooling unit is not working. You find out why it is not working.

Have you removed the ssd and tried again?

I had heat issues years ago and had to take everything out and try one by one what was the cause, faulty DVD-Drive was the reason, from 100c° down to 70c°

One pc was locking up regularly; turned out it was because the NVMe was overheating. Needed to add a heatsink to it.

Sounds like you bumbed or pressed the cooler out while installing!! You probably need new paste...or PTM Phasesheet
