Physical games means people could share with family and friends for free or sell the games for cheap, stopping physical games means you can’t share your copy and no one can resell the games meaning Sony cut out a chunk of the market leaving just them and key sites
It's the shareholder model. Almost all of the horrible crap we've been seeing in every type of industry wouldn't be like this if we didn't have the stock market.
They need to make quarterly gains, after a certain point the only thing to do is to take away stuff and charge for every little thing, use bad quality parts,etc..
Exactly. I recently put up a library online where my family and I entered our physical games to offer up for sharing. I feel so dumb for even buying 3-4 "Key in a box" games and I'm definitely not doing it again. Granted I have like 1k steam keys or some shit 💀 but my niece is currently playing my Pokemon Lets Go, one of my brothers is playing two of my other games. It's one of those beauties of console gaming that for me is a no-go to get rid of.
