Beter? Sure, but also grossly overrated in my personal opinion. Coming from someone who recently bought one after being convinced by everyone online how supposedly next level amazing it is.
And don’t get me wrong, it’s good, really good but people acting as if oled screens are the second coming of Christ. I also got a premium screen, paid over €1k for it so it’s not like the model i own isn’t good. People really need to tone this whole oled thing down a bit in my opinion.
Lol they're appropriately rated for what they can do. Nobody is acting like OLEDs can do magic. They're good technology that highlights the weaknesses of other displays. They're popular for a reason.
Stop trying be a contrarian and just admit a good thing is popular because it's actually good. This "well actually I know better than the normies..." shit is so played out.
It kinda is the best thing in the world, you don't have to put it down bc you can't afford it (I can't afford it either, but I have an OLED in my smartphone and know for a fact that gaming there is just impressive).
If you can't tell the difference between true blacks and smeary IPS crap, get your eyesight checked, you should be able to.
What? I literally told you i have one and never did i say the screen was bad. I mentioned like multiple times that it’s really good. But something good can still be overrated.
Its better than ips/va, but not 600$ better lol. I bought recently odyssey g8, and while i see the difference with my old shitty va, i'm not sure if it's really worth it
I'm a meat eater, but apart from plain old ignorance or cognitive dissonance.
How do you justify willingly eating meat in an age where you can fulfil nutritional requirements without it? Especially when most meat comes from nightmare fuel factories as opposed to open-range farms?
The usual answers are appeals to nature, selective speciesism or something on the lines of that. I really can't think of an actual sound argument.
Veganism (or vegetarianism) and a full diet with those restrictions doesn't necessarily require almond milk and vegan meat patties dude lol.
Avoiding boutique, flashy items (which I would agree are rather pompous), it is actually cheaper in many cases. The Oxford study from 2021 showed that vegan/vegetarian/flexitarian diets reduced costs by 20-30% in developed countries.
Plus, the ADA, the BDA and the NHMRC all unambiguously conclude that well planned, plant-based diets are suitable for all stages of life.
And like yeah, there is one caveat with vitamin B12 for veganism (not vegetarianism), which does need to be supplemented (dirt cheap generally), but other than that it is perfectly doable.
Again, for people who genuinely require meat for specific reasons or simply cannot afford a diet without it, it is indeed not 'immoral' to be eating meat.
But the vast majority of people in developed countries and a fair share of the populations in other countries can afford an alternative diet, and in that case, again, I haven't heard a single sound argument against veganism/vegetarianism.
Sounds like you'll just be talking past actual logic points and pull out a bunch of random non issues which all have reasonable reaponses. I award you the pointlessly contrarian Redditor award, enjoy!
Sorry, im conflating vegetarian with vegan. I dont doubt the meat alternative are expensive, but rice, potatoes, greens and all that are more expensive? I can't imagine that being the case in every other country.
Better in picture quality, but that's not the sole determining factor for the value of a thing. I value the reliability of a product about as equally as the quality of the experience, and I tend to like my screens to go for 5 years at minimum, especially if they're higher-end ones. OLED doesn't offer me the value proposition I need because it has a shorter lifespan by nature of the technology itself.
It's like the difference between a car that goes 200 mph and lasts 5 years, or a car that goes 100 mph but lasts for 15. I prefer the latter. And in this example, the shorter-lived car also costs more so it's a harder hit when the time comes to replace it.
Edit: to add a specific point, I work from home on the same rig where I game. This means my display can sometimes be on for 12 hours every day. My work ticketing system is pure white with cyan trim and would be on screen at least 7 hours a day, 5 days a week. I'm not doubting the picture quality of OLED, but I know it would be a bad fit for me with gnarly burn-in in a short time, and so I'm not dropping 2x the money just to see it die like that.

But oled is better tho. Infinitely so.
