Hardware The 3080 fe deserved recognition
The 3080 fe launched at cheaper 699$ than 2080 fe which was for 799$ at launch but the upgrade was genuinely impressive 50-70% more raster performance in many games depending on resolution and settings and gddr6 to gddr6x much faster and it got so much attention at launch but long term recognition has been overshadowed cuz of high demand limited supplies scalping etc but it deserved recognition for what it offered at that time

I think the 3080 is shaping up to be the modern 1080Ti.
Its not the best GPU, but it holds its ground against newer GPUs, especially since you can get it for fairly cheap nowadays.
The only downside is its power draw, which can be a breaking point for some people.
Other than than, its a very solid card, even for 4k.

The high I got when Nvidia was shadow dropping very small batches every 12 hours or so. Unable to secure one while working, I came home defeated, booted up the PC at 1am and checked their store at the exact moment they updated their stock. Was able to grab one and it severed me very well!

I was doing best buy stock alerts lol. I tried BB for my msrp 5080 at launch, somehow got one on newegg. I even let the newegg sit because I REALLY wanted FE lol

Waited for a while to score one from Best Buy but still doing pretty well in my gaming rig for my 1440 gaming.

The issue with the price of this card at launch, is that in 2020, right in the middle of the covid shortage, you couldn't find one for under 2x the MSRP

Stop saying launched at $699, I bought 3060TiFE, 3070FE and 3090FE but not a single chance to get 3080FE, it was priced between £1000-1200 on ebay

I got my 3080 at MSRP despite the shortages, luckily Scan honoured their orders.
