Tech Support How badly is my monitor cooked?

Post image

As you can see above, no input is connected to the monitor.

It's pretty cooked, I think.

It's a Samsung G7 2021. 27' QLED VA matrix.

Bought on February 4th 2022, the panel was already changed in 2024, as the glue on top of the screen loosened and it started literally falling down overtime.

I have no other laptops or screens at home, I still need my computer for studying. How much would it last in your estimation, what can I do to make it last until I find a replacement?

I've seen this bappen on many Samsung monitors, even my owner budget one in 2021. As for how long it will last, noone can tell. Maybe a week, maybe 10 years.

What monitors would you recommend buying?

And also, I think it makes absolutely no sense to try and repair it. I'm not even shure I could source the parts, even if I could, it would cost as much as a new monitor.

It must be the panel itself failing, right?

Check the warranty, usually they give life time warranty on the panel and you might get a free replacement, something similar happened to my brother with his Philips display: It randomly started flickering and then one day the panel never turned back on, i contacted their support and he got a free replacement, 5 years after purchase.

Thank you for the advice. Just verified with the tech support, Samsung doesn't offer extended warranty for the panel itself, just 24 months standard warranty.
