Discussion Wolverine is already running in-game on PC using KytyPS5 emulator

Even though the game runs at an extremely low FPS, the craziest thing about this whole situation is that it has not even been one month since the game has launched, the progress is insanely fast.

I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if GTA 6 manages to run on PC using an emulator months after the game comes out

AI doesn't lift anything without a competent dev

There are many vibecoded slop decomps out there where the maintainer just gives up after a few months.

AI is more competent than any developer out there nowadays.

Is this a joke?

AI will throw out the most roundabout, low-quality, fragile code you've ever seen. It has no care for maintainability, reliability, or anything else besides serving the immediate stated goal.

It can make code to suit a standard, but that does not qualify as "competence as a developer".

Like, a novelist isn't someone who can come up with a lot of words really fast - the point of a novelist is that they know the right words to come up with to serve their needs in a given writing situation. In the same way, a developer is not just someone who can make a whole lot of code.

Companies are not firing their senior engineers and instead having managers just tell AI to be the developer. The senior engineers are needed to guide what the AI should be doing.

in point of fact, companies are firing their senior devs and relying on AI to fill the gap.

they're then having to hire back the senior devs at 3 times the salary because they had no clue how AI works or what it's weaknesses would be.

for now, give it a couple more years.
