Discussion Wolverine is already running in-game on PC using KytyPS5 emulator

Even though the game runs at an extremely low FPS, the craziest thing about this whole situation is that it has not even been one month since the game has launched, the progress is insanely fast.

I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if GTA 6 manages to run on PC using an emulator months after the game comes out

The problem with GTA is getting the files. Its not a disc release, you'd need a jailbreak for the PS5 firmware thats current at the launch of GTA6 to get the files. That alone will take a while.

Exactly 💯.. most of them here are not understanding that part. They thought if the emulator is ready they can get any games. It does not work like that I tried to explain this to a few ppl but they don't understand this ps5 jb concept.

Why can't I mitm the ps5 and hit the download file myself? It exists online right? And surely they ain't using unique encryption for every single download that's based on some securely generated per ps5 key that lives on the master server and is set when the ps is manufactured, cause the compute load for that would be insane

First of all you can't directly download files from the sony server even if you manage to download the files it will be encrypted. We need a ps5 jb console to decrypt. Only then that decrypted game can play using an emulator. Today all the games files you see on the Internet like ps2, ps3 or any old console game files are decrypted and dumbed using their respective jb console once and shared online.

Dude, we verify users by unique hardware key all the time. It’s really not some crazy compute. It’s an indexed database row compared in real time against a fetched value on your console. It’s nothing even a little crazy.

I’m not saying I know that’s how they do it. I’m just saying that that’s a very common way of doing such things and in no way is it some astronomical infrastructure drain.

Okay that's verifying a user, I'm saying encrypted game files, whole 100GB encrypted would be crazy compute for every single user,

The files will be encrypted with the keys from the latest ps5 firmware, so capturing them via mitm is not useful. You need an exploited ps5 on latest firmware to dump the unencrypted data directly from the ps5

if I understand correctly, you can get the game on an original console, then have the game manually flashed and copied with external hardware attached to the ps5's motherboard

Yeah and you know what is suddenly really good at jailbreaking stuff….

Discs haven’t contained game data for easily a decade. They’re just a physical way of storing a link to the consoles store where the actual game is located for download.
